Beautiful shot Anna.
Your timing was much better than mine with this image. Mines mouth was still closed. Great composition, good natural colour, nice sharp detail and well balanced contrast makes this one a special to view the beauty of this animal. It even gave you an excellent pose although I remember it was just for a very fleeting moment.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Well done with this image Anna. I remember it was still early morning and there wasn't much light yet. You've managed to get good definition though and a lovely highlight in the eye.
Good effort and thanks for sharing.

Excellent capture Anna.
That one got your adrenaline going. Lovely colours and sharp detail gives one a pleasant look at this action. That's a nice sizable fish for the Heron to enjoy. The vertical image worked well and I like the piece of grass in front just to anchor the scene.
Well done and thanks for sharing.

Hi Anna
What a lovely image. Your timing was great to capture the right moment. The orange-brown colour of the Nyala females are very true to nature. Overall a lovely composition with nice sharp detail.
Thanks for sharing.

Hi Anna

I'm too late for a Christmas wish here on the site, but fortunately I had the privilege to do that first hand and not just a cyber-kiss, but a real life one.

Congratulations on your 200th posting. Keep up the good work with the high standard of your images and notes and may you continue to display your love for nature here on the site still for a long time to come.

It is a magnificent image with such lovely bright and contrasting colours. The subjects are well isolated from the BG and show some nice sharp detail. If I remember correctly these were rather tiny flowers, ±12mm in diameter, and that means it is an excellent macro for you to have captured such fine definition.

Warm regards
Loot

Wow, this guy played with the ink pot and had a serious slip.

Hi Carl

A warm congratulation on your 50th posting. Over the past 7 months or so you've treated
us with some wonderful postings as seen through your lens. You have made great strides
in quality and technique both in your photography and in your post processing. Keep up the
good work and best of luck for the next milestone.

As you mentioned, this is only the 2nd 'black Zebra' we see on the site, but in truth and reality
this one is a much better quality shot than the previous one. So, without the slightest hesitation,
it is also going straight to my theme for "RARE or SIGNIFICANT contributions to TN".
This is a very extraordinary and unusual genetic anomaly (as is also highlighted in your notes)
and throughout all the years that I've been visiting numerous parks and reserves in South Africa
I have never come across this phenomenon. In fact, I've never even observed any mention of it
in any text books either.

You did some good research on the topic and provided a worthy note to accompany this rare
sighting. It is exactly what this site is all about – "To learn about the natural world through
photography" and as a secondary spin-off "To learn about photography through nature".

Well done and TFS.
Take care and have a great week.
Regards

Hi Anna

This is an excellent image of the Sun Star with nice sharp details. You dealt well
with the bright sun light and I like the natural colours. The Cape surely has some
lovely flowers and I know you're still going to show us same fabulous images from
our recent trip. So this one is probably only an appetiser for what's yet to come. It
was great to see how you enjoyed the Cape and all the opportunities to get lost in
the veld while you found all these amazing little flowers.

What do you think? Should we start planning our next year's holiday in the Cape
again and give the Kruger Park another miss?

Love
Loot

Hi Anna

Spectacular image of this beautiful butterfly. I am sure Silvio will be much impressed
with such a fine dedication.

You nailed this one with an excellent composition, spot on DOF, excellent and sharp
details and lovely colour saturation. It was a great weekend with you meandering all
along the south coast and the bonus is that you got to capture such wonderful images.
I know you are still going to spoil us with some of your other similarly wonderful shots
you have accumulated throughout the weekend. The Trekkies will just have to wait and
see. Btw, it is a TrekNature first so I've added it to my theme "RARE or SIGNIFICANT
contributions to TN".

Well done and TFS.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Love

Hi ManYee

Wow, what a fabulous landmark. I don't know in which lifetime I ever will reach such
a grand total, especially at the rate I'm going at present (chuckle).

A BIG CONGRATULATION is in place, I am sure. Your persistence and hard work
is really a lesson and an inspiration to all of us. Thanks for all the beauty that you have
shared with us throughout the years. I have seen many wonderful images from your
lens and you have introduced me to a lot of species I never knew about or ever seen
before. Keep up the good work and I hope to see the next 1,000 in the coming years.

This spectacularly colourful creature is another species I've never seen before. Once
again, it is indicative of your hard work & persistence and it has paid off a noteworthy
result. Those loud colours are something to behold and who won't love that striking little
white eye.

Well done MF and TFS.
Take care and have a great week.

Hi Anna

CONGRATULATIONS with your 3rd birthday on this site.

How time flies. It's three years down the line, but it really feels like only yesterday when you captured your
first image on a digital camera and shortly thereafter joined this site. You really came a long way since then
and the members of TrekNature opened their hearts big time to you and appreciate your contributions and
participation on this site. Take this little mantid as an example. Your hard work and persistance knows no end
and you and your little Sony has become inseperable. This is the reason why you so regularly manage to find
all these weird and wonderful critters in our garden or wherever you venture. Keep up the good work and
although points are not the begin all or the end all on this site, it is still appreciative to notice that you have
become the South African member with the highest points on the site. It is a direct indication of your valuable
contribution to TrekNature and for that I thank you.

Keep up the good work and TFS.
Loving regards
Loot
