[Richtlijnen voor opmerkingen] Opmerking van de fotograaf
This is captured along the borders of Namib Naukluft National Park in Namibia. I was driving on the M36/C14 to the west towards the Atlantic.
Erongo region has to be verified and Namib Naukluft is no city.
This is just before entering Namib Naukluft. To reach Walvis Bay at the Atlantic Ocean, you have to drive a very long time through a weird arid landscape as there is only you and your car, the sun and further on absolutely nothing.

About the mammals...
The gemsbok or gemsbuck (Oryx gazella) is a large African antelope, of the Oryx genus.
Horns...from wikipedia
Gemsbok are widely hunted in Africa for their spectacular horns that average 85 centimeters in length. The only outward difference between males and females is their horns, and many hunters mistake females for males each year. In males, these horns are perfectly straight, extending from the base of the skull to a slight outward and rearward angle. Females have longer thinner horns that have a slight outward rearward curve in addition to their angle.

Thanks for looking and ciao...

Hello Annick,
Beautiful capture that shows the finesses of your equipment, skillfully used to give the viewer a feeling of being there. Excellent sharpness and composition.
Thanks and best regards,

Hallo Annick,

Hi Annick, the sharpness of this pic is incredible, how you work right!!And the result is truely a great pic, wonderfull work in a difficult light and from an impossible and far point of view.My double compliments, have a nice day,Luciano

Interesting description of your very long drive through this arid, albeit weird landscape. Your image surely gives a strong sense of this vastness, with the gemsboks relative small size FG.
Well done you wild & crazy guy! ;-}

Hellow Annick,
Coming from Namibia I can really appreciate this image of the "gemsbok" in there wide open natural spaces of semi arid and arid lands.

Wierd is the best word to describe the landscape, Annick!
There seems to be no 'Amen' to this prayer-like landscape!
Glad you didn't crop it, 'coz that would've taken away the 'scale' of this shot!
