|I have captured this gregarious 'Grey-Headed Gull' (Chroicocephalus cirrocephalus), also known as 'Grey-Hooded Gull' in Marievale Bird Sanctuary. To me the colour white and yellow are very difficult, to get proper exposure. Here I took this picture early in the morning which I think best time to capture such coloured species.|
This small gull breeds South America and Africa, south of the Sahara.

Hi Srikumar, beautiful capture of this gull,i like the excellent sharpness despite the distance and the difficult light, nice reflections too like a lot of underscores. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano
Indeed the harsh sun is the worst enemy for photographers trying to shoot white plumage birds.....Unfortunately I have to take pictures in inappropriate conditions because I have little time at my disposal.....
But this image is excellent with superb details.

I couldn't agree with you more as I also have a terrible time with the colors yellow and white.
Your photo however has perfect white balance rendering the best whites and yellows. Super sharp focus showing exceptional detail. Your Grey-headed Gull is very pretty with its grey, white and black plumage in contrast to the yellow eye, ringed in red and capped off with a red bill. Looks like it was a peaceful sea as very little ripple is seen in the water.
Ciao Srikumar, great capture of lovely gull, fascinating reflections, wonderful natural colors, fine details and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
