|Yet another picture of a Blister Beetle from the vegetables farm we have on our school campus taken last month. These are the most damaging pests for okra flowers.|
Blister beetles are beetles of the family Meloidae, so called for their defensive secretion of a blistering agent, cantharidin. About 7,500 species are known worldwide. Many are conspicuous and some are aposematically colored, announcing their toxicity to would-be predators.

A great shot of this rather colorful blister beetle, ours are not nearly as pretty. The focus is sharp giving us a good view of its body features and bold colors. Very attractive composition and perfectly exposed. I can see how it has eaten the outer edges of the okra flower.
I had some swiss chard growing in our garden and they literally destroyed most of it in just a short time. One day the chard was fine and my next visit they had moved in and set up house:(
Ciao Ram, great macro of beautiful beetle, fine details, wonderful natural colors and splendid sharpness, very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
