[Richtlijnen voor opmerkingen] Opmerking van de fotograaf
Thanks to well-kept gardens, plenty of trees and a lotus pond on my school campus, I usually get a fair amount of wild life on it. Today morning, I was a bit surprised to notice this attractive species of Pansy preferring to sun itself on the stone-paved verandah of our junior school building. It stayed on the spot and allowed me close-up shots with my 105mm macro lens.

Junonia almana, the peacock pansy, is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in South Asia. It exists in two distinct adult forms, which differ chiefly in the patterns on the underside of the wings; the dry-season form has few markings, while the wet-season form has additional eyespots and lines.

Hello Ram,
You are fortunate to have such an abundance of critters on you campus grounds. Once again you present to us a beautiful species of insect. The Peacock Pansy is one of my favorite butterflies from your part of the globe. I love its unique looking eye spots and wing markings. Outstanding clarity and perfectly exposed. A real treat to view!!

Hi Ram,the same butterfly and the same quality, just the color of background is different,a new post about this magnificent butterfly made in the best way, bright colors and fine detail,i like the shadow effect too. Have a nice Sunday and thanks,Luciano

Hi Ram,
Without doubt this is my fave Indian butterfly species, colorful and very spectacular. Your photo is simply a minimalistic masterpiece with perfect exposure, composition, lights, colors and sharpness, the simple grey background makes good contrast with the conspicuous butterfly. Brilliant!
Kind regards from Ireland, László
