Sorry to hear about your post last night, I was away so didnt get a chance to see it :(. However, today you have a lovely portrait of this lizard. The detail and DOF as always is spot on. There is a nice catchlight in the eye as well. It is nice seeng it up against a monotone green background.

Strange story in your note. In the evening most of the time my points are spent and I had to wait till the next day. But I didn't have seen your posting.
This is a very good and impressive detailed portrait of this lizard in beatiful natural and bright colours. Great DOF, POV, plain BG and composition.

Hard to fully understand where you're coming from Bayram, but I will try.
I visit/comment forward when I have the time, and always try to return the courtesy of a critique. Simple - Easy as 1,2,3 :)
This is a technically well done closeup. I would give it just a bit more nose room if it was mine.

Yes this is a beauty and like all beauties, she has her mood... Very impressive and mysterious glance, looking at you. I'm jealous of this shot... and of this lizard! It is not easy to make such shot, with perfect sharpness, composition and colours. And I know how difficult it is to approach such beauties, specially in hot weather like in Syria.
Don't worry for people visiting without commenting. TN is well referenced in google and they are many "tourists" too on this site. You know who are your friends and be sure that you have many. You are completely right to not commenting as paybacks. Be sincere and yourself, dear! I'm curious who is this beauty and I found the name... You can guess how... :) Take care,

I didn't view your last post as I was not active yesterday.
But this is a superb macro close-up of a species of lizard unknown to me but others have stated it to be Phoenicolacerta kulzeri, which sounds good to me.
The details and colours are great, but I would agree with Howard about a little more space in front of the nose. Thanks and have a good evening dostum!

another very good picture from a lizard.
I have not been seen this deleted pic.
Why are this not a good close up or macro?
I found this a first class close up with good details, sharpness and pv with fine naturaal colours.
And ofcourse always nice to be the first and i think ypou have even as i am much new ones on TN.

You shouln't get upset, a lot of people are on holidays or not always at home. We shouldn't care how many points, just post what we think is important, especially if, like you, the photographer is a specialist! Anyway we and you know that your pictures are intersting! This one is an excellent portrait of a lizard with a somehow interrogative attitude. And don't forget there are many people on TN and from outside who are interested in your notes!!

Asfor the strange thing happen to your shot, it really perplex me. Why such things happen. How the captured lizard and the notes are very importnt and useful as a layman and also as a learner.

Kulzer's rock lizard, never heard of ... Thanks to you we are introduced to a whole world of reptiles known before only to a small scientific community. In the case of Kulzer I vote of course for "awesome", not for "bad" :-)

Bayram, if almost nobody wants to comment on a picture, why care? Pictures on TN will be searchable by Google and other searching machines for years if you don't delete them. I am personally still mourning the loss of many of your former pictures, they had become a precious source of information. I still get queries for my pictures I posted on TN in 2007 and thousands of people have looked at some of the old pics. You are one of the key personalities on TN, everybody appreciates your work. And you yourself know the real value of every single shot, you don't really depend on comments by others. Hugh, I have spoken :-)
I wish you many happy encounters with reptiles and TN- commentators!

Dear Bayram!

You are very important to TN, and you are one of the members that get the most feedbacks in the form of points, critiques and comments. From my point of view, you should not feel personally attacked if once the feedbacks are not as many as you had expected. And not all the visitors have the same interest: some are more interested in the photographical aspect, some more in the scientific one. And we should not forget that some drop in as pure spectators. From my point of view it's also not a question of payback. My courtesy and my respect for a person that has shown interest for one of my pictures obliges me to write a critique about one of his pictures. That's the way I see and handle it...

Now, about this picture, I would like to tell you that I find it superb. It's the perfect protrait of a lizard, technically very well done and just pleasant to look at.

This is such a fine mugshot of the lizard MF Bayram. The close framing is fabulous and details are first class in the frame.
