They started appearing three days ago, even with all of the snow still on the ground. Up till that point I have not seen a one. They are a very healthy looking bunch and also a very large bunch both in numbers and in size...Advance guard I reckon. A rare occasion when I actually had my telephoto lens out in my own short walk to the car from the front door... Usually these fly off so quickly that I have no chance to get the camera from side to eye. My lens was searching so I fumbled to put it into manual focus while it was still up at my eye. I couldn't find the switch so I had to take it down and look. All this time the Robin was apparently having a curious look at me. I am quite the sight to behold I reckon...but it worked...and here it is..although I think it will be among the few I post...as I tend to have my landscape glass with me on two cameras...

In saving grace, the Robin is so easy to look up, I shall leave it to you should you really wish to know. This way you can for one day at least, pass my notes quickly and move on:-) My gift to you today!

Well Bob, even with two landscape lenses on two camera, this is one brilliant capture. The light shines well exposing the beauty of the plumage. The sharpness and details are well established and I like the texture on the wings. Well done and thanks for showing us this one.

Jusni

Goodness... that is quite a red breast. You should try to catch one on the snow. It would really stand out. We don't have them here yet... neither snow nor robins... plenty of rain though! : P It's a nice capture... this harbinger of spring.

Hello Bobby Blue, you are the troubadour announcing spring! I love those proud birds, they look like a knight by the way they walk on grass. Your picture is a fine one too, with fantastic colours! I'm a fan of your colours. We will be seeing them here in about a month. I am so anxious to hear their song, such a beautiful song. Et félicitations pour cette 300ème photo, j'espère voir de tes photos encore longtemps! Thanks Bobby!

Wonderful vibrant color! Well done! Cheers, Klaus

Beautiful robin image. Color, lighting and focus are all good. The robin is a ubiquitous symbol of the Pacific Northwest and its increased activities is a harbinger of Spring.

Hello Bob

This Robin is just superbly taken...as ever...Blimey he is such big boy comapred to our dainty little European ones.

Hi Bob.
What a wonderful bird and excellent picture. Image of the bird is superb. Amazing pose, great colours and excellent sharpness. I like diagonal BG and level of its details. My compliments and TFS. Lovely shot.

My hearty congratulations on 300th post. Many thanks for your creativity, skill, contribution and kindness.

Hi Bob,

It sounds like the US Robin is quite similar to the European Robin in that they are very curious and will hang around long enough to get a few shots off. This is a great shot and I haven't seen a close up on TN as far as I can remember. I loke the colours and the Robin's breast is such a vibrant red. A stunning looking bird and a great picture oif him.

Hallo Bob
I am stunned by the clear and bright colours of this American Robin. This is indeed a beautiful and slender looking bird. The combination of rusted red, black and white is stunning and a perfect match. On the other hand I am also amazed by the legs of the bird, it looks as if it belongs to a cranky old fossil. It looks really very old and dried out. Maybe it is my imagination but that is how I see it. This is a excellent portrait with very sharp details. Thanks for sharing.
Kind regards
