|I photographed this Silver Spotted Skipper while visiting the Roger Tory Peterson Institute in Jamestown N.Y. It was midday as I walked along their outside flower gardens in hopes of finding some interesting subjects to photograph.|
The heat apparently kept most of the butterflies away, but I did manage to capture this little skipper as it sipped nectar from some purple Cone flowers.

Very attractive composition, Ron.
I like the rich colours in this image.
Ciao Ron, great macro of fantastic skipper, wonderful natural colors, fine details and splendid sharpness , very well done, my friend, ciao Silvio
A very interesting colorful butterfly specie. Very nice POV.
Excellent green BG. Beautiful Skipper and well captured. Details and DOF look very good. Petal, just behind its head looks bit distracting to me, but colourful indeed. Green BG could have been better, definitely in my test. But it doesn't look so bad also ;-)
Thanks for sharing 'Silver' Touched butterfly,
