[Richtlijnen voor opmerkingen] Opmerking van de fotograaf
These three black vultures were watching me as I photographed birds at Conowigo Dam, MD, part of a group of about 20 of this species that congregated there. There is something unnerving about being silently observed for an hour or so by scavengers, so I turned my camera on them and observed a great deal of social behavior such as mutual grooming (looking for insects and such in each other's feathers and even seeming to kiss). The one on the right seemed to be a bit envious of the two that seemed to be closely involved with each other - mates, perhaps? The bird on the right had also had its wing tagged, which I will show in an additional photo.

Hello Alan,
Nice clear shot of this trio of Black Vultures interacting with each other. Would have been nice if the light pole was a tree, but at times you either take what you get or completely miss the photo. Sharply focused and attractively framed. I don't believe I have ever seen a vulture with a wing tag...interesting.
