It was the same here as well, but without the blue skies after the snow...
Saturday was +15C and Sunday roads were closed due to snow... luckily i did not plant my potatoes on Saturday... i will hold off another week i think...
Beautiful picture, love the overhanging branches, but would have probably pulled the track a little close to the left thirds line in the picture to lead the eye to the mountains. anyhow - great shot. I had no realised that the weather pattern had extended across the whole of Europe.... my ignorance i guess.

Hi Markus. Yesterday was the first time this year we had snow in Southern England but it had all gone by the afternoon. You have captured a beautiful landscape with the mountains in the Background.all covered in snow. i like the way you have included the tree . well done TFS.
I really like to thank you for this such a lovely winter scenery from your beautiful country!
very good pov with great depth, beautiful lighting and excellent details in the image!
good use of the tree branches covered with snow as beautiful silhouette to makes this beautiful composition
many thanks once again from heart!

A beautiful mountain landscape, with this fine carpet of virgin snow!
Well, maybe not so popular in April but it has happened before and it will happen again...
A lovely composition, where the naked branch is an important element!

looks like you go the same weather system as us in the north west. It all seems a bit dreamlike now though, as if it never happened.
Anyway, a great POV from your beautiful homeground and impressive exposure. Very sharp fron to back for f/11 too, well done my friend!

It's not an everyday sentence to hear from you about life, and it's so good to see even you can take time off from work and enjoy it! Who cares about the wasted plants anymore? ;)
The sight is wonderful, you chose the perfect timing to take the shot: without the long shadows in the front it would not be the same! The snow was gone just 2-3 months ago here but still I miss it, it's very good to see this idillic scene...
The tree hanging in from the top was strange for first sight to me, but imagining without it would seem to lack on contrast I think, so it was very wise to compose in.
The weather is fine here too but with some rain, instead of doing sports I chopped some reed shafts for heating purposes for a relative this weekend but it was still great fun too to do it outside!
Lovely photo of this Winter Wonderland!
Wow! It is so amazing how snow transforms the land.
This happened to us too. We had the warmest day of the year and then two days later we're 4 inches deep in snow and freezing at -1C!
Fantastic composition here using the path as a lead-in line and the trees above to frame it.
Excellent clarity and sharpness.
Brilliant exposure too.
Just stunning, Markus!

I remember the same thing happening here as well on about the same date: one day i was out in a t-shirt and the other it was snowing (a bit less than there, but still).
But even if this wasn't expected, i think you did the best of it - i'm sure that a nice ski-walk with your son was beautiful and very relaxing :)
It's great that you managed to take some nice photos, as well and this one here is great! I like the composition and the perspective here.
The frost covered trees stand out well and the beautiful peaks in the BG add a lot of impact to the scene, too.
Very well managed exposure and lovely colors as well.
Is this shot taken far from your house (just as a curiosity), or do you have a similar and gorgeous view from your garden?
Anyway, Bravo, TFS and take care my dear friend

Buen formato y realismo evidente.

Your snow covered landscapes are really beautiful. I think it must be such a lovely view and experience looking at a snow blanket like this in real life. This is such a peaceful scene with lots of open space and I am sure lots of fresh air to inhale. That track gives me the feeling to just want to walk onto it and just keep going. The sound of a snowy silence echo here. Very well framed and presented. The ideal scene to look closely into. Thanks for sharing.

Now that's a picture post-card i would buy from you to send home if i ever came to Switzerland:) I love this shot, and they remind me of the beautiful UNESCO cards that my dad used to buy me as a child.A splendid capture with a great DoF and the branches with snow in the FG creates a wonderful feel of the far and the near. The lighting is excellent in this PoV you have used and i can smell the morning air....it's wonderful as you share this magnificent scene from your part of the world.
To my favourites....TFS & Cheers
