[Richtlijnen voor opmerkingen] Opmerking van de fotograaf
This bizarre insect was also found in Panama on the way to Escobal
As far as I know treehopper vary a lot in their morphology with some even more elaborate forms. More to come...

The genus and species name of this one is Cladonota apicalis

What a strange incect Denis.
It's the first time i see this hopper.
I am waiting to see some more forms.
TFS.
Wellcome to TN.
Regards,
Nikos.

Awesome insect, this is a really cool specimen, I've never seen one before. Are they common in Escobal? Great shot although it would have been nice if you had a tripod for this shot to come into a little more focus. Is this some sort of mimicry or camouflage?
Paul :)

Very interesting hopper, Denis. I wish the picture would be sharpen to see its details, also the overburnings on the stem distract some attention. TFS! Michal
