This was a combined holiday and photography course starting off on holiday on Loch Rannoch and then moving to the Isle of Skye for the course with Ian Cameron (www.transientlight.co.uk) and then returning to Locah Rannoch for the remaing few days of our holiday.... (full story) (8 photos)
Our family took a trip to Wales and England this past Summer and drove everywhere our little rental car would take us. We saw many amazing sights of nature which I hope to share with you here. (5 photos)
A wonderful trip to England with a small but great "TN meeting" with some very nice members: Paul Hanes, Nick Glen, Jai Glen, Paul Lawbert, Joe Kellard and (well) me :)
A week in May well spent ;) (12 photos)
This is a series of photos taken during a photographic day at the British Wildlife Center in Lingfield, Surrey.
During these days, the centre is closed to the public and you are permitted to enter the enclosures of a number of the animals. Various birds of prey are also brought out so that you can photo them without the wires visible.... (full story) (3 photos)
This was another one of my Scotland Treks. Fill the car with anything and everything that could be needed and set out for a long drive and a great adventure.
The weather was mostly very good. Both my husband and I managed to get sunburnt (oops) and only actually needed our waterproofs twice. Mostly, if it rained, it rained at night and was dry again by morning.... (full story) (10 photos)
My summer vacation to Scotland.

Visiting England and seeing many new things. A lot of day hikes and new wildlife to see.

This was one of those trips that had to get over all sorts of obstacles even just to happen, not least of all my husband not being able to come and family not being very happy about me being out on my own. But I stuck my head in the ground and ignored all the protests and went anyway. And what a wonderful holiday I had.... (full story) (14 photos)
The first day of our vaction we visited Andy Cole and together with him we went to Whipsnade animal park. Then we went to Dartmoor and toured Southwest England from there. It was one of the best holidays we ever had! (4 photos)
This was one of those totally unplanned holidays which started a day early becuase of a major fire on our local common.
So unplanned and without any idea as to what or where we were going, we drove a far north as we could...... (full story) (18 photos)
I visited the Lake District for the first time since really getting back into photography, so with the intention of getting some good wildlife or landscape shots, preferably both. I'll post some of my favourites here. (5 photos)
Every year we go camping over Christmas and the New Year, somewhere in the UK. Last year was Wasdale in the Lake District and we only just escaped before the storm and the floods, and having walked and mountain biked most of the mountains in that area, this year we strayed much further North. We have had plenty of holidays in the Highlands before, but this was the first time my husband had camped in Scotland in the winter, (I spent most of my childhood up there staying there upto 3 months a year (if you add all the bits together)).... It was a very gloomy day that we chose to go to Whipsnade with some friends, and very cold. The last visit was unsuccesful, photography-wise, and I expected the same due to the poor weather and poor light, but I always take the camera anyway. Happily, I got some of my best photos from many visits in the last 6 months. More will be added. (5 photos)
I am a regular visitor to Whipsnade Wild animal Park in Bedfordshire, so a lot of my posts are from there, the animals are just to much more interesting than the birds in my garden! Here is the second of my travelogues, I'll be adding more, I hope the quality of the photos improves each time.

This is a record of all the "nature" shots I took on holiday in Devon and Cornwall during August 2005. The West Country has an abundance of wildlife, be it animal or insect, and there is always the chance of a photo opportunity if you keep your camera handy at all times! (20 photos)
Just on a whim, we went for a day out to Whipsnade Wild animal Park in Bedfordshire.
I haven't been there for years, probably about 10 years, and it hasn't changed much. It holds more interest for me now I've got back into photography and have all you nice people to share my photos with :) So I've bought a year's pass and I expect this will be the first of many travelogues - Hopefully the quality of the photos will improve each time :) (6 photos)
I spent 7 days at Center Parcs in Elveden Forest, Suffolk in April 2005. There is much wildlife there, here are some of the highlights. For those not familiar with Center Parcs, they are holiday parks with an emphasis on nature and sports. Each village is usually situated in a forest containing lots of wildlife, mostly water birds as there is usually a lake and many smaller water areas in the village. Ducks, geese and swans are common, of course, but there are sometimes more rare animals including some endangered species. Unfortunately my travelogue consists of the more usual subjects. :) (11 photos)
I spent the day at the Santago Rare Leopard Project, a place where big cats are involved with breeding programs. Unfortunately some of these animals may no longer exist in the wild in another 10 years, but when the countries they are endangered in have governments that protect them, then there might be a few left to start repopulation....
